PROCESS: This mug is made from a paperclay slab with more than 8 layers of stenciled underglaze patterns applied to decorate the clay surface. The BLAM! graphic is created with a letterpress print plate created by the artist. The print plate is impressed into the clay followed by hand-brushed underglaze applied in the recessed area. The mug form is then assembled from 6 pieces of slab clay, precisely trimmed to fit together. The mug is leak-proof.
