An early work that would lead to the Texture Sketch series
This small porcelain flask has a earthy stone appearance. Impressed graphics were made from a cast of a 100+ year old local tombstone. Washes of brown and black glaze were applied. Flask was raku fired.
PUBLICATION: My ceramic raku flasks and bottles have been published in several magazines and books. A full-length description of the process was published by the magazine, Pottery Making Illustrated, in 2010.
